Jason Curry – Robert Susman with the Gavin Kerr Trio *** Touring from the USA
March 20, 2014 @ 7:00 pm
15$ – 20$On his first visit to Perth, Saxophonist Jason Curry will be playing his brand of swinging jazz for one night only at the Ellington Jazz Club.
Originally hailing from Indianapolis Curry now calls NYC home, where he is a regular fixture at jazz clubs and performing arts venues, playing with big bands and small groups alike.
He has shared the stage with such jazz greats as Wynton Marsalis, Roy Hargrove, Esperanza Spalding, Aretha Franklin, The Tempations, Robin Eubanks, Jimmy Heath and Jimmy Smith.
Jason has worked in pit orchestras on Broadway and his performances and compositions have featured in various film and TV productions.
Joining Jason on the Ellington stage will be his NYC compatriot Rob Susman on Trombone. Rob teaches at the Music Dept at NYU and has toured and played all around the United States with such acts as the Allman Bros, Tito Puente, Clark Terry, Chico O’Farrill, Liza Minelli and Neil Diamond. Rob also plays in Broadway musicals and works as a recording session musician. He is also a prolific composer/arranger.
Both players are exciting, swinging musicians in their own right and love to perform!
The pair will be backed by the Gavin Kerr with Danny Moss Jnr on bass, Ookii Effendi on piano and Gavin Kerr on drums.
